Mieke Brekelmans
MIEKE BREKELMANS (MSC in Chemistry and Psychology, PhD in Education) is full professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Utrecht University. She is director of the Research Program Education and Learning: Development in Interaction and coordinator of the Bachelor Educational Sciences. Her main research interest is the study of classroom social climate, in particular the teacher student relationship. She has published on the interpersonal dynamics of real time classroom interactions, the effect of teacher student relationships on student outcomes, convergence between teacher knowledge and behavior, development of teacher student relationships during the teaching career, and multilevel issues in studying classroom interactions.
